Electrophysiological Study in Ebstein's Anomaly With no Evidence of Accessory Pathway
نویسندگان
چکیده
Arrhythmias are usually present in up to 80% of the patients7, with prevalence of anomalous atrioventricular pathways ranging from 0 to 44%1-3. Despite the universal acceptance of electrophysiological study (EPS) in symptomatic patients or in those with apparent accessory pathway on the electrocardiogram (ECG), data on asymptomatic patients with no electrocardiographic evidence of pre-excitation are scarce in the literature.

Effect of Ebstein's anomaly on short- and long-term outcome of surgically treated patients with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.
BACKGROUND Ebstein's anomaly is the most commonly occurring congenital abnormality associated with the Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome. However, the effects of Ebstein's anomaly on the risks and benefits of surgical ablation of accessory pathways in patients with WPW syndrome are unknown. METHODS AND RESULTS This study compared the long-term outcome of 38 WPW patients with Ebstein's anom...

متن کاملSuccessful ablation of coexistent Mahaim tachycardia and right posterior accessory pathway in a patient with Ebstein's anomaly.
The atriofascicular accessory pathway (AP), known as the Mahaim pathway, is a rare form of pre-excitation, comprising less than 3% of all APs. Mahaim AP is characterized by decremental, anterograde-only conduction, and antidromic tachycardia with left bundle branch morphology. Prevalence of Mahaim AP in Ebstein's anomaly is significantly high. In addition, combination of Wolff-Parkinson-White (...
متن کاملElectrophysiological Studies and Radiofrequency Ablations in Children and Adolescents with Arrhythmia
BACKGROUND Radiofrequency ablation is the standard non-pharmacological treatment for arrhythmias in pediatric patients. However, arrhythmias and their associated causes have particular features in this population. OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemiological characteristics and findings of electrophysiological diagnostic studies and radiofrequency ablations in pediatric patients referred to the E...
متن کاملSurgical treatment of Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome during plastic operations in patients with Ebstein's anomaly.
OBJECTIVE Ebstein's anomaly is the most common pathology associated with the accessory conduction pathways. METHODS From January 1990 to August 1999 48 patients underwent surgical repair of Ebstein's anomaly by various plastic techniques. The pathways were identified and characterized at preoperative electrophysiologic mapping in 17 (34.5%) patients. There were seven males and ten females. Th...
